In this standing asana class, we will be working with wall support. The aim is to establish a more firm connection with the feet and see how they contribute to the standing poses.

In this class, we will be going through all the key standing poses: Utthita Trikonasana, Utthita Parsvakonasana, Ardha Chandrasana, Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana, and Prasarita Padottanasana.

However, our main aim is to observe the actions in our feet and how they are related to the pose as a whole. Many students have the tendency to forget or overlook this, even though the feet act as a base and can greatly influence the quality of the pose.

Now, seeing as we tend to feel our bodies better when they are in contact with another surface, we will be using wall support, pressing the back foot to the wall. Having that extra bit of support will help us channel our attention in the right direction and will facilitate observation.
