The Iyengar Yoga Institute Bondi Junction (IYI-BJ) was established in 1989 with blessings and guidance from Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar.
The IYI-BJ focus is on the practice, teaching and sharing of the Iyengar Yoga method. There is comprehensive teacher training apprenticeship programme and a strong dedicated community of students and teachers who practice and study together. The teachers and committed students are encouraged to travel to Pune, India, to study with the Iyengar family.
The founding directors Kay Parry and Carole Hart have supported the Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia since its inception and continue to support the proliferation of Iyengar Yoga in Australia. The IYI-BJ honours the Iyengar lineage and dissemination of yoga as guided by Guruji’s teachings.
