A guide to this audio sequence
Pixie takes students through a session of inversions, some light standing poses followed by a more in-depth session of forwards bends. This is part of Pixie’s series of asana and pranayama classes which are great for getting some access to the physicality of asanas with the calming elements of a longer savasana and pranayama session.
What poses are in this sequence?
We start in Uttanasana, Adho Mukha Svanasana, Virasana Forwards. We move to inversions including Adho Mukha Vrksasana (full arm balance) and Pincha Mayurasana.
Some standing poses and leg work follows: Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana, Parsvottanasana, Trikonasana and Prasarita Paddotanasana. A nice, longer Salamba Sirsasana then welcomes us to the sitting pose part of the sequence.
Sitting poses include Dandasana, Janu Sirsasana, Triang Mukha Eka Pada Paschimottanasa, Marichyasana 1, Paschimottanasana, Urdhva Prasarita Padasana, Baddha Konasana in sitting and lying flat, Bharadvajasana and Marichyasana 3.
A restorative Viparita Karani moves us to Savasana and a 20 minute pranayama session.
