About the course
This course is aimed at helping advanced students and those in teacher training discover difficulties that might arise as one progresses in their practice and find new solutions for this. This could also be a good collection for those who were unable to participate in the live classes that took place at the Balmain Iyengar Yoga Studio and wish to catch up or review what they missed.
Throughout the course, we will look at different pose types and analyze most of the foundational poses from a new angle, which will give us a deeper insight into how these poses are performed. The classes, though dedicated to specific pose types, are more miscellaneous in nature and will often feature a more nuanced look at aspects that are often overlooked or not given enough attention in other classes. For example, you will find classes dealing with twists, both standing and seated, or with arm balances. Aside from specifically physical aspects, we will also dedicate some time to exploring the use of props in our everyday practice.
By the end of the course, you will likely have a much more wholesome understanding of and appreciation for your practice and, if you’re in teacher training, you will gain useful insights to pass on to your students in the future.
