This is a very fast-paced, dynamic class focussing on standing asanas.
We will start off with some incantations to redirect our mind and gear it toward the practice, followed by a brief warm-up to activate our legs and shoulders.
Then, we will go through a wide range of standing asanas, introducing some new poses and paying a close attention to sequencing and the ways in which it affects the quality of our practice.
We will also introduce Parivritta Trikonasana, a twisted standing asana. Though it’s quite complicated and might require some support at this level, it is a very rewarding pose that can help release tension in the spine, especially in the lower back, strengthen our core, and massage our internal organs.
We will also be adding some inversions closer to the end. This will make this session quite energising, which means it’s perfect for earlier during the day when you need a pick-me-up to set the right tone for the rest of the day and get you out the door. Also, seeing as this session is composed of such a wide range of poses, it’s one you can come back to frequently until you feel confident in all the poses.
