This is the first class of the year for our Level 3 students at our Balmain Iyengar Yoga Studio.
This will be a hybrid class. During the first half, we will be practising a series of standing poses to the wall. Then, in the second part, we will go on to do some forward bends. All the while, we will be focussing on getting in sync with our bodies and adding more flow to our movements. An important aspect of today’s practice will be learning to appreciate the body’s boundaries: finding out where it’s best to let go and move deeper into the pose as opposed to where it’s best to hold our current position and explore our limitations in more detail.
Another aim of this session is to lay the foundations for next week’s class, where we will be predominantly working on our backbends.
