We know that in a yoga practice, there are several key components, namely sequencing, technique, and timing. In this predominantly standing-pose sequence, we will be exploring the concept of timing and how it can shape our practice. When looked at through the lens of timing, sequences can lay anywhere on the dynamic-static spectrum.
Today’s sequence is closer to the static end, meaning we will be focussing on holding poses for longer periods of time to see if we can really learn to “find the pose.”
So, during this session, when you feel you want to come out of a pose (for example, an inversion like Salamba Sirsasana), try to take another breath and see if you can restore enough energy to hold the pose for an extra breath or two.
